The popular and known Entry of Bulls and Horses of Segorbe, which first documentary indications go back to the XIVth century, preserves all the peculiarities that its creators could attribute it. Specially, those refered to the emotion and the risk that carries this magnificent spectacle, in which the herd of bulls is covered and guided across the street Colon by a dozen of skillful and brave riders.
This spectacular fiesta, declared Fiesta of International Tourist Interest in December, 2005, is celebrated during the second week of September, from Monday until Sunday and at two o'clock in the afternoon. Being witnesses a multitude of persons, which form a stereotyped wall lengthways and width of the tour, turning in these days the capital of the AltoPalancia, in a city, visited by more and more tourists and fans of the bull.
:::: SELECTION OF THE BULLS
The festive activity begins about twelve o'clock in Sopeña's walk, from which viewing-points one sees the wide valley formed by the river Palancia, and from where the shepherds realize the typical rite of the "Selection", consistent in separating the herd of bulls that has to traverse the "Entry".
:::: RAISING BY THE RIALÉ
The ascension of the cattle for the way of the Rialé, which silently is attended by hundreds of persons led in the wings of the way, is a kind of prelude of the "Entry", though in the above mentioned raise the herd is not covered by any horseman.
:::: THE MEETING
At two o'clock exactly, with the uproar of the firecracker, it begins the "Entry" in the street of the Argén. It is in the Plaza de los Mesones, where the riders and horses gather skilfully and audacity to the bulls, it is known as " the meeting ", later the riding initiates in perfect harmony.
:::: THE RACE
The multitudinous and popular " Entry of Bulls and Horses " of Segorbe passes for a tour of approximately 500 m., with an approximate duration of a minute, lengthways principally of the street Colon, occupied this one for a public's great mass that is opened and closed, creating corridor and barrier to the intrepid step of bulls and horsemen.
:::: HORSEMEN'S PARADE
But the public of the street, and the one that has seen the "Entry" from the different balconies and viewing-points, does not leave and waits jubilantly for the rhythmical parade of the horsemen, going back throug Colon street to reward one more day the perfection of the "Entry", the commendable art of driving to the beasts, their bravery and mettle.
